Belle and Sundance Go Their Separate Ways

The two horses abandoned in the mountains near McBride, British Columbia (B.C.) last Fall, and rescued by a team of volunteers in the weeks before Christmas 2009 have been placed in new, permanent homes in B.C., according to the B.C. SPCA, after their former owner’s request that they be returned to him was denied.

Unfortunately, the horses were placed in different homes by the SPCA, one horse in Prince George and the other in Kamloops.

I think it is sad that after all the horses went through together, they now have to live apart.

Do horses form bonds with other horses that humans should respect, or is this sentimental anthropomorphizing on my part?
